I love the drawings of your critters. They have so much personality (both drawings & the cats & dog). Sometimes Sandy, my black-mouthed cur, gets a mention and her photo posted on my blog: http://vonniewinslowcrist.wordpress.com Black-mouthed cur is a real breed – Old Yeller was one. When we adopted Sandy from the Humane Society, she was in poor health. Now, with good food, vet visits, and lots of love — she’s happy and healthier. I think animals enrich our lives. My house would be empty without the pitter patter of paws.

Vonnie – thanks for your post. So glad you like my drawings. Had so much fun doing them – I really entertained myself laughing as I drew! What’s really funny is how much they reflect the personality of the animals! I loved drawing them and writing in their ‘voices’! My house too would be empty without their pitter patters. No, I didn’t know about black-mouthed cur — as a breed. That’s interesting to me and I’ll check it out. As to the reference to the movie Old Yeller, WOW what I remember that movie well and remember crying about it for days. It was a powerful film, something of a pace setter in its time.So glad that you rescued Sandy and that she’s a happy girl now. Let’s hear it for the Humane Society! They make our world a better place! Give your pup some pats and kisses for me…. and I’ll check out that breed reference and her photo on your blog.
Oh and I’ll let Talia know you wrote to her, she’ll be delighted to write back when she’s finished napping, she does love her naps!
